A Scranton Uber driver has been arrested and is currently in custody following accusations of attempted sexual assault. The incident occurred on Monday morning near the intersection of Division Street and South Hyde Park Avenue at approximately 11 AM.
According to the authorities, the victim reported to the Scranton Police that the Uber driver, identified as Rual Pujols-Gonzalez, aged 36, made an attempt to sexually assault her. The victim stated that Pujols-Gonzalez deviated from the intended drop-off location, entered the backseat of the vehicle, and exposed himself by pulling down his pants.
While exposing himself, Pujols-Gonzalez allegedly demanded that the victim engage in oral sexual activity. Despite Pujols-Gonzalez locking the car doors and trying to forcibly pull her back inside, the victim managed to escape from the vehicle and seek help, as per the police.
Pujols-Gonzalez has refuted these allegations.
He has been apprehended and faces the following charges:
Indecent exposure
Open lewdness
False imprisonment
